Filipenses/Comentario Nuevo Testamento Andamio. Es una maravillosa combinación de ternura y firmeza. La autoridad del apóstol está constantemente presente en la carta. Pablo escribió esta carta por dos razones principales de orden práctico: para agradecer a los filipenses la generosa ofrenda que le han enviado; y para explicar el regreso a Filipos de su “hermano y colaborador”, Epafrodito. Aparentemente, el plan inicial era que este se quedara con Pablo para ayudarlo. Su regreso inesperado, pues, necesita explicación. Los filipenses han abrazado el mismo evangelio que salvó a Pablo y que él predicaba. Experimentan con él tanto las bendiciones de la salvación como las luchas implícitas en la santidad vivida en medio de un mundo impío. Pablo está profundamente agradecido a Dios por ellos y los tiene en su corazón. Ya son una parte suya, no solamente de su ministerio, sino de su mismo ser.

Philippians is a wonderful combination of tenderness and firmness. The authority of the apostle is constantly present in the letter. Paul wrote this letter for two main practical reasons: to thank the Philippians for the generous gift they have sent him; and to explain the return to Philippi of his «brother and helper,» Epaphroditus. Apparently, the initial plan was for him to stay with Pablo to help him. His unexpected return, then, needs an explanation. The Philippians have embraced the same gospel that saved Paul and that he preached. They experience with him both the blessings of salvation and the struggles involved in holiness lived in the midst of a wicked world. Paul is deeply grateful to God for them and holds them in his heart. They are already a part of you, not just your ministry, but your very being.
