La Biblia Septuaginta es la traducción del hebreo al griego.  La Biblia israelí griega, comúnmente llamada Biblia de los LXX (70), o Biblia Septuaginta (palabra latina que significa setenta) pues setenta y dos rabinos (seis de cada una de las doce tribus) trabajaron en ella y, según la historia, habrían completado la traducción en setenta y dos días.  Representa la más antigua e importante entre las colecciones de textos religiosos sagrados israelitas, más antigua que el Tanaj judío palestino, junto con el que constituye la fuente para el Antiguo Testamento de las Biblias cristianas.
